UK Any increase in university tuition fees must be tied in to widening access to ensure that poorer students are not priced out of higher education, Lord Mandelson, business secretary, said on Monday.
In his first speech since higher education was brought into his departmental remit, Lord Mandelson said he did not want to pre-empt the tuition fees review due to begin later this year.
