S Korea to pursue GE over back taxes

Seoul is to hit General Electric with a demand for Won17.1bn ($18.5m) in back taxes over deals it made in the real estate sector, in spite of strong protests from the US company.

The case underlines the public scrutiny of foreign companies operating in Korea amid fervent economic nationalism in Asia’s third-largest economy.
