Eurostat delayed in delivering house price data

The technical and definitional problems associated with collecting house prices and creating an index are largely surmountable, witnessed by the fact that several countries have perfectly reasonable measures.

Some, most notably the UK, have more measures available than needed – none might be perfect but most of them move in the same direction most of the time and the broad trend is clear. So the problem mostly boils down to some countries giving such data a low priority.
