Zoellick appeals to staff to put strife behind them

Robert Zoellick appealed for an end to the strife at the World Bank yesterday as he accepted President George W. Bush's nomination to re-place Paul Wolfowitz as president of the organisation.

Mr Zoellick said the world's leading multilateral development agency had "passed through a difficult time", and there were "frustrations, anxieties and tensions about the past that could inhibit the future".
