Insider to take helm at France Telecom

Didier Lombard was on Sunday night apppointed chairman and chief executive of France Telecom, succeeding Thierry Breton, who was named France's finance minister last week.

Mr Lombard, its head of strategy and partnerships, said he would continue with the strategy launched by Mr Breton, who has hauled the group back from debt problems incurred during an over-ambitious expansion.
