Charles Stanley looking to expand

The chairman of Charles Stanley has signalled his desire to take on larger rival Brewin Dolphin in the north of England as the private client stockbroker looks to expand.

Sir David Howard’s remarks came as Charles Stanley on Thursday disclosed a 6.8 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to £5.49m in the six months to the end of October on revenue of £55.9m (£49m).
