Novartis in India patent dispute

The Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis has refused to drop a court case challenging India’s patent laws in spite of accusations from public health advocates that the case could severely restrict access to affordable medicines in developing countries.

Médecins Sans Frontières, the medical humanitarian organisation, this week launched an international campaign urging Novartis to drop a case seeking to revise aspects of India’s patent laws.
