Some banks charge more for PPI, study finds

More evidence of profiteering by banks from payment protection insurance is presented on Thursday in a study showing borrowers paid far more for loan cover at some banks than others.

The research found wide variation in charges for credit insurance, with banks on average found to be charging almost twice as much than mutually owned building societies.
