Tokyo looks at proprietary clearing

The Japan Securities Clearing Corporation has started studying the viability of offering clearing services to Japan’s alternative share trading platforms, a move that some participants said could increase volumes on such venues.

Japan has gained seven proprietary trading systems since such trading facilities emerged more than five years ago.
