Eight men were remanded in custody on Tuesday to appear at the Old Bailey next month on charges relating to an alleged conspiracy to blow up transatlantic aircraft with improvised explosives.

A further three defendants charged with lesser offences were remanded in custody to appear again before City of Westminster magistrates.
