US Barack Obama faces a test of his credibility over his call for a total settlement freeze in the West Bank, as US legislators call on him to scale down his demands and Israel maintains its opposition.
“We cannot ask one party to unilaterally perform if the other parties are not fully willing,” said Robert Wexler, a Democratic Congressman from Florida, who says the Palestinians and Arab countries also need to move.
