Vitamins price-fixing claim fails in High Court

Victims of price-fixing were dealt a blow yesterday after the High Court struck down a landmark claim against a cartel of leading multinational drug companies.

Lawyers said the case could undermine efforts by the European Commission and Britain's Office of Fair Trading to encourage more private actions against cartels, in an attempt to bring Europe closer to a US-style class action culture.
