Samsung prosecutor demands jail for Lee

South Korea’s special prosecutor on Thursday demanded a seven-year prison sentence for Lee Kun-hee, the former chairman of Samsung, on charges of tax evasion and breach of trust while in charge of the group.

Mr Lee, 66, stepped down from the country’s biggest industrial and financial conglomerate in April after being indicted following corruption allegations made by Kim Yong-chul, Samsung’s former legal counsel.
