Wagoner: talk of bankruptcy is ‘plain wrong’

When the chairman of the world's largest industrial company by number of employees is forced to write to all its 325,000 workers to reassure them that bankruptcy is not imminent, you know he is worried.

Rick Wagoner, chairman and chief executive of General Motors, sent an all-staff memo last week denying any plans to use Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to restructure the business.
