Cobham has made its fifth US acquisition this year, with the purchase of GMS, a digital equipment business owned by Allied Defense Group.

The FTSE 100 aerospace and defence group will pay $26m (£14m) for GMS, which is based in Carlsbad, California and mainly supplies US law enforcement, national security and defence organisations.
