EU moves on deal on Guantanamo

The European Union on Thursday pushed forward with a framework for taking in former detainees from Guantanamo Bay, with indications that “several dozen” could resettle in the EU.

Meeting in Luxembourg, interior ministers from the bloc’s 27 member states reiterated that it was up to national governments to decide whether or not to host former detainees.
