Americans excel at making movies that keep you in a state of suspense while building towards entirely predictable endings. The same often applies to the country’s four-year presidential selection cycle.
Once again – although a little earlier and more expensively than usual – White House hopefuls are asking us to suspend disbelief while they search their souls or set up “exploratory committees” that will enable them to discover whether they possess the humility required to lead America.
