Songwriters will earn less from CDs this year than from any other form of copyright revenue, including broadcasting and live performance, new figures show on Wednesday.

Revenue from the rights payable from CDs will decline from £152m ($248m) last year to £131m this year, according to projections by the MCPS-PRS Alliance – the body that collects payments on behalf of 60,000 UK songwriters, composers and music publishers.
