Geithner presses Congress for action on reform

Tim Geithner will on Wednesday urge a key Congressional committee to push ahead with his plan for financial regulatory reform, which is being assailed by banks, regulators and politicians.

On Thursday the Treasury secretary takes his reform message to the G20 summit in Pittsburgh where he will argue that global economic imbalances need to be tackled as part of the post-crisis rebuilding, with a new enhanced oversight role for the International Monetary Fund.
