Short View: Risky swissie

As everyone awaited word from the US Federal Reserve on Wednesday, other central banks provided some entertainment.

If anybody doubted the Swiss National Bank’s resolve to keep the Swiss franc cheap, they do so no longer. Back in March, the SNB said that it would intervene in the market to keep the swissie weak. This was an attempt to avert deflation, which could happen if a strong currency made imports cheaper.
