Lonmin leads FTSE’s rally

Lonmin hit a five-month high on its return to the FTSE 100 on Monday as analysts tipped platinum to gain some of gold’s haven attractions.

Platinum miners were among the worst performers last year as demand collapsed from industries such as the carmakers. This has narrowed the price gap between platinum and gold to a 12-year low, according to Merrill Lynch.
