Citi and BofA leave investors in limbo

Citigroup and Bank of America, the two sick men of the US banking system, did their best to persuade investors they were regaining their long-lost health on Friday.

Both lenders reported a profit for the second quarter and their executives put a brave face on their companies’ troubled past and uncertain future.
