RBS consortium takes control of ABN

Mark Fisher, the Royal Bank of Scotland executive who led its integration of NatWest, was on Thursday named chief executive of ABN Amro as the RBS-led consortium that is taking over the Dutch bank moved to revamp its supervisory and management boards.

Sir Fred Goodwin, RBS chief executive, and his counterparts at Santander of Spain and Fortis, the Belgo-Dutch group, will join ABN Amro’s supervisory board in the move. Arthur Martinez will continue as supervisory board chairman.
