On London: Miners boom on Chinese demand

Mining stocks took centre stage in London this week, as the US dollar weakened and the Reserve Bank of Australia raised interest rates – a move seen as another sign of recovery in the global economy.

The FTSE All-share mining index rose 12.55 per cent, taking its gains since the start of the year to 77.8 per cent. Once again investors who bought on the dip were rewarded.
