Tiger Airways eyes fleet expansion

Tiger Airways, the Singapore-based budget airline, on Monday affirmed plans to expand its fleet, indicating that a slowdown in the sector was unlikely to derail its Asian growth goals.

Tony Davis, chief executive, said that recent airline collapses indicated the slowdown would lead to polarisation in the sector, with budget carriers and premium airlines forging ahead at the expense of less established airlines.
