Hill & Smith expects US lift

The boost in infrastructure spending in the US over the next few years should offset any slowdown in comparable spending in the UK, according to Hill & Smith, the constructional metal manufacturer.

The group, which makes about half its revenue from crash barriers and bridge parapets for motorways, said resilient spending on transport was offsetting declines in other parts of the business and that the US would be strong over the next few years.
