Obama seeks accord over Berlin speech

The German government and the campaign team of Barack Obama were working on Sunday to settle a dispute over the US presidential candidate’s plan to hold a speech in Berlin as part of a tour of the Middle East and Europe that begins at the end of the week.

“Our goal is just for me to lay out how I think about the next administration’s role and rebuilding our transatlantic alliance,” the Democratic senator told reporters on Sunday aboard his campaign airplane.
