Law firm offers a peek behind the veil

The average sickliness of legal secretaries and the number of solicitors on sabbatical may not be at the forefront of chief executives' minds when they come to pick their lawyers. Should any be interested, though, a London-based law firm has now obliged by placing dozens of such statistics in the public domain.

CMS Cameron McKenna is believed to be the first law firm to publish a "human capital" report, something that the UK government wants many more employers to do. The 24-page document detailing a variety of people-related measurements and policies will be circulated initially among staff and clients, but is available to all on the firm's website.
