Cranswick defies pig prices

An increase in the price of pigs to record levels has failed to dent consumer demand for Cranswick’s bacon and sausages, after it passed on some of the extra costs to supermarkets.

The food producer said like-for-like sales rose 12 per cent in the six months to October and, according to analysts, higher volumes contributed about two-thirds of the revenue rise.
