Joint patrols for Thai-Cambodia

Military officers from Thailand and Cambodia agreed yesterday to mount joint border patrols to avoid a repetition of Wednesday's clashes which killed two soldiers and left 10 injured.

Tensions have been running high for months around the 10th Century Preah Vihear temple. The World Court awarded the site of the temple itself to Cambodia in 1962, but the status of 4.6 sq kms of surrounding territory remains unresolved.
