Bingo groups hail gaming concession

Bingo companies welcomed the government’s decision on Wednesday to help the beleaguered industry by allowing them to double the number of high-stakes gaming machines in their clubs.

But Gerry Sutcliffe, sports minister, reiterated his concerns about the risk of addiction and said he was expecting an initial report from the Gambling Commission on problem gambling from machines next month.
