Brown unveils plan to cut terror funding

Gordon Brown on Tuesday unveiled new proposals to root out groups who finance international terrorism, outlining a string of measures that would allow the treasury to support the actions of the police and security services.

In a speech in London that sought to boost the chancellor’s tough stance on security and anti-terror issues, Mr Brown said he would undertake four sets of initiatives to counter terrorist financing.
