Yen weakening set to continue

When the yen carry trade unwound against the Aussie and Kiwi dollars last summer, Japanese retail investors got badly burned, with losses exacerbated by the significant leverage on their accounts.

A year later they are facing another wave of losses as the Aussie and the Kiwi once again fall against the yen. But they are better off than a year ago in one key respect.
