Absent Netanyahu sparks rumours

The mysterious day-long disappearance earlier this week of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, has sparked a wave of speculation that he may have secretly visited Moscow to voice concern about a possible Russian arms sale to Iran.

Mr Netanyahu disappeared from public view on Monday for what a statement from his military attaché that day described as a visit to a security installation.
