Reuters set to burnish its brand

In the media business, Reuters is best known as the British-based news organisation that sends journalists to far-flung corners of the world to deliver first-hand reports of conflicts and catastrophe.

But Reuters' news agency operation constitutes just 10 per cent of the 154-year-old company's revenues. Its principal business is the provision of financial data - and has, historically, always been so.
