Wolfson warning on earnings

Wolfson Microelectronics became the first high-profile technology company to signal that earnings would be hit by the consumer spending slowdown as it warned on fourth-quarter revenues on Thursday.

The warning sliced more than a quarter from the value of the specialist audio chipmaker, pushing shares to their lowest point since listing in 2003.
