Speculators set records on 'long' bets

Record numbers of speculators are betting that the share price of individual companies within the FTSE 100 will continue to rise over the coming months, according to Capital Spreads.

For every 15 investors that go "long", expecting specific companies' share prices to rise, there is just one who is going "short" and predicting that an individual company will fall, says the spread betting firm.
