Eurex gets a jump on the competition

In the 14 months since the launch of its US venture, Eurex, Europe’s largest derivatives exchange, has been derided for contemplating an attack on Chicago’s futures exchanges.

In February last year, Eurex US – the exchange’s new US futures exchange – went head-to-head with the Chicago Board of Trade in an attempt to challenge its monopoly of trading in US Treasury futures contracts.
