Legal firms pressed to reform

At a client dinner in Windsor last year, Allen & Overy issued its lawyers with an unusual rule before they sat down: they were not allowed to talk about the firm.

Guy Beringer, A&O’s senior partner, had set up the meal after a small number of clients complained that the firm took too little interest in them and their needs.
