Blizzard of excuses in blame game

While much of the UK was enjoying a “snow day” and forgetting all about the country’s creaking financial system, those in charge of maintaining its physical infrastructure were falling out over who to blame for not getting people to work.

In the capital, the body Transport for London was the first to strike back against suggestions that it should have been better prepared for the widely forecast bad weather.
