Porsche hit as sports car demand slumps

Porsche is feeling the pinch from dramatically weaker demand for gas-guzzling sports cars in North America, where its sales plunged by 45 per cent in August.

The German luxury carmaker said it had sold just 1,516 cars in the US and Canada, which together form its biggest global market by far.
