Shoichi Nakagawa, Japan’s former finance minister who caused a stir by appearing drunk at a press conference during the Group of Seven meeting in Rome earlier this year, was found dead at his home in Tokyo on Sunday morning.
Mr Nakagawa, 56, was found by his wife lying face down on his bed and was proclaimed dead by an ambulance crew before being rushed to hospital. The cause of death was not known but police said they did not suspect foul play. The former finance minister reportedly did not show any external injuries and did not leave a will.
