Free trade 'is not a one-way street' says UK in attack on US 'hypocrisy'

The British government and the leading UK business organisation have mounted a two-pronged attack on the US, accusing it of "hypocrisy" for putting up barriers to trade.

The strong wording of the criticisms, in sharp contrast to the mutual praise that usually marks transatlantic relations, reflects increasing UK concern about the growing trend to protectionism in America and elsewhere in the European Union.
