Upbeat Fresnillo says cost increases have now peaked

Fresnillo, the Mexican silver miner, said yesterday that rising costs and shortages of mining equipment were starting to ease and the group would start to feel the benefit in the second half of the year.

In the six months ending June 30, higher silver and gold prices meant that London-listed Fresnillo's revenues rose 36 per cent to $424.2m.
