Indian motorbike sales roar back to life

Sales of motorcycles have roared back to life in India in spite of a downturn that has hit the growth of Asia’s third largest economy and dented its exports.

Bajaj Auto, India’s second largest two-wheeler maker, more than doubled its net income in the quarter to the end of September, powered by the sale of high-margin models, a rise in exports and lower steel costs.
