US responds coolly to Blair call for action on climate change

The US responded coolly yesterday to the call by Tony Blair, Britain's prime minister, for concerted international action on climate change.

The administration's opposition to the UN-brokered Kyoto protocol on climate change requiring mandatory curbs on greenhouse gas emissions remained essentially unchanged, US officials said.
