London stocks tap into rise in sentiment

London equity markets continued their strong run after further hefty gains in the US session overnight were matched in Asian trade.

Led by financial and resources stocks, the FTSE 100 was 1.1 per cent higher by the close at 3,753.68, a climb of 41 points. The mid-cap FTSE 250 added 1.7 per cent to 6,162.54. Over the week the FTSE 100 was up 6.3 per cent.
