JPMorgan is considering acquiring a stake in a Chinese brokerage as part of its expansion strategy in the country, its leading executive in Asia has told the Financial Times.

A number of overseas banks are expected to seek to enter the sector when it reopens to foreign investors some time next year, although none so far has publicly declared its intentions.
