Virgin Mobile and Carphone Warehouse have expanded in France after their joint venture, Virgin Mobile France, agreed to buy the local operations of Sweden’s Tele2 for €56m.

Tele2 France had more than 429,000 customers at the end of June, which Carphone estimates will fall to 385,000 customers by the completion of the deal as customers move away.
