The global outlook is currently marred by greater levels of political and economic uncertainty than at any point during the past decade, warned a report co-sponsored by the World Economic Forum, the organisers of the annual meeting in Davos.

In particular, the recent credit turmoil is now threatening to trigger a US recession, the report said on Wednesday.
